Marvin Duong is a Vietnamese American, the owner and operator of Mavy Home Improvement. His birth name is Manh Duong, but he goes by Marvin. This is a predestination that everybody calls him handyManh or handyMar.

The origin and meaning of “Mavy”

Mavy means “life” and “thanks”. Also, it is a combination of his name and his wife name, Manh+Vy. She is the strongest support and collaborator. 

Marvin has over 8 years of experience in residential home remodeling and renovation. He worked with many real estate investors and professional general contractors in the past. Before he moved to Boston, he worked for TN & LT Real Estate Investment in Florida for about four years. Within TN & LT Real Estate Investment, he did all kinds of home remodeling, rental repair, maintenance, and fixer-upper houses.

Story – Mavy Home Improvement LLC

Before stepping into home improvement career, Marvin worked at State College of Florida as librarian assistance for four years while enrolling at State College of Florida. Then, he graduated from SCF and have an Associate in Art degree. In addition, he also worked part time as a receptionist in a Nails salon. The experience as a library assistance and receptionist has given him the knowledge of customer services, technical skills, and problem-solving skills. He took advantage of these skills and brought them into home improvement career.

Basically, Marvin is just an all around handyman who love to help people with home repair, and a guy who enjoys fixing things. He actually does this work because he loves it, not because he has to. He really enjoyed the time working for TN & LT, learned and gained so many skills from them, but it’s time for him to start his own journey and open up a new chapter in his life. He knows the fact that he would face many new challenges. He decided to start a handyman and home improvement business.
